Life has a funny way of ignoring our plans. You can make the schedule, organize the house, clean out the van, set reminders, and convince yourself that today is finally going to be the day everything runs smoothly. Then a sock disappears. Your phone loses service. Someone forgets how a four-way stop works. A grocery cart blocks an entire aisle. And one of your kids suddenly has absolutely no idea what time their own game starts. In this episode of Jesse’s Jabber, Jesse takes a humorous look at all the little things that derail our carefully constructed plans—from disappearing socks and unreliable technology to traffic, grocery-store gridlock, parenting, and the never-ending battle to keep the Great White Whale clean. But underneath all the everyday frustration is a bigger realization: maybe the goal isn't to finally get life under control. Maybe the chaos is the life. The house won't always stay clean. The van won't stay organized. Someone will always need a ride, forget something, lose a shoe, or yell your name approximately four seconds after you finally sit down. And someday, when the house is quiet and the van stays clean, we may actually miss all of it. So instead of spending every day frustrated that life isn't going according to plan, maybe we should learn to laugh when the plan falls apart—and appreciate the people creating the chaos along the way. And on this particular Friday night, that means loading up the Great White Whale and heading to another high school football game with two members of the Squad on the team. There will be water bottles, hoodies, blankets, sports bags, chairs, homework, snacks, and almost certainly something nobody will claim ownership of. Because that's life. And if something goes wrong? Well...that wasn't the plan.

The Takeaway
The plan will fall apart. It always does. The question is whether we spend our time being frustrated about what went wrong or whether we stop for a minute, look around, and appreciate what's happening right in front of us. Because the messy house, crowded van, forgotten shoes, football games, rides across town, interruptions, and constant noise might not be obstacles to the life we're trying to build.
They might be the life we're building. Drive safe, hug your people, plan accordingly—and when the plan inevitably falls apart... Well…… that wasn't the plan.
