Life has been busy. Really busy. And when the day finally winds down, sometimes all you want to do is sit on the couch, turn on the TV, and shut your brain off for a little while. But lately, there hasn't been much worth watching. Then, just like that… football. In Episode 27 of Jesse’s Jabber, Jesse talks about that feeling when something you've been waiting months for finally comes back. The first football games of the season aren't just about the games themselves. They're about college football Saturdays, the picks, the debates, the trash talk, the food, the friends, the family, the traditions, and, of course… Bama football. But somewhere between waiting for football season to arrive and wondering where the season went, there's a bigger lesson. We spend so much of our lives waiting for the next thing. Friday. The weekend. Vacation. Christmas. School to start. School to end. The next season. The next big thing. And sometimes, in all that anticipation, we forget to enjoy the thing we've been waiting for once it finally gets here. We waited so long for it… and then we rushed through it. This football season, Jesse is making a conscious effort to slow down and enjoy it while it's happening. To enjoy the Saturdays. The games. The conversations. The people. The memories being made without even realizing they're being made. Because eventually, this season will be over. And just like that… we'll be waiting for football again.

The Takeaway
Don't spend so much time waiting for the next thing that you miss the thing you're already in.
Football will come and go. Seasons will change. Saturdays will turn into Sundays, Sundays into Mondays, and eventually the last game will be played.
But right now, we're in the middle of it.
